Working at the MCG is something we don’t take lightly. It’s an iconic venue, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to be involved.
Skylift Cranes was engaged to assist with the removal of the cricket pitches, using our custom-designed cradles, before preparing the ground for the upcoming AFL season with fresh turf.
It was a detailed and carefully managed project. Protecting the surface, coordinating transport, and working within tight logistical constraints — including street closures in a busy precinct — meant every step had to be thoughtfully planned and executed.
There was more pressure than an AFL Grand Final!
We’re proud to have played a small part in preparing the MCG for another season.
A big thank you to the MCG team, who were fantastic to work with. Their support and collaboration made a complex job run smoothly from start to finish.
The project was captured by one of Melbourne’s best drone videographers, Drone Pilot Pete. Led by Peter Jose — an experienced airline pilot and instructor turned Chief Drone Pilot — his focus on safety and professionalism really shows in the quality of the footage.
We appreciate being trusted with projects like this and the opportunity to contribute where we can.
